Story
Swiss Cottage Specialist SEN School has been changing the lives of children with special needs since 1995 are now recognised as the most successful special needs school in the country. Over the years we have worked with more than 2000 children with special needs and are viewed as a model of specialist education.
We have 152 students, aged 2-16 years, with a range of learning difficulties and associated needs including communication, physical & learning; other significant additional associated needs, including emotional/behavioural and autistic spectrum disorders and medical, including Mental Health.
Children arrive at our school with many varied, and often rare, disabilities and problems. Our aim is to allow them to achieve and progress as best they can on their own terms with specialist teaching and therapeutic methods in place. We work hard with every child that comes through our doors to ensure that they are given the best chances and are devoted in enabling them to achieve and strive. For some children, the ability to write their own name and count to ten is a huge achievement, for others they will go on to work with us here at the school helping other children like themselves.
We, the staff and parents team, have decided to take part in this challenge to raise some money to go towards the £270k shortfall that the school has to work with. This shortfall means that many of the essential services that the school offers would have to be cut if people weren’t so generous as to support us so we would really appreciate it if you could please give what you can to help us.
If you’d like to join us in this challenge or learn more about our school please contact Luisa Stravino on 020 76818059 or at Luisa.stravino@swisscottage.camden.sch.uk
Many thanks from us all.
