Employees from James Donaldson & Sons Ltd are taking part in a relay cycle around all 23 of the Donaldson operating branches, starting in Ashford, and finishing in Fife, Scotland - cycling an incredible 1223 miles - further than John O'Groats to Land's End! And what's even more surprising - some have even signed up to cycle the entire tour!!
We're raising money for Columba 1400 through our company charity the Donaldson Leadership Academy. Columba 1400 works with young people, many of whom come from challenging backgrounds; exclusion, homelessness, addictions or those in Local Authority Care. Columba 1400 recognises the tough realities and restrictive environments in which many young people operate and the limited employment opportunities they face.
Columba 1400 is devoted to helping these disadvantaged young people develop team skills, self worth and confidence, and most importantly, enjoy themselves. The effect that the time at Columba 1400 has on these youngsters is incredible - please see our video to understand how profound it can be.
