Story
Every day, 619 children and young people from across the UK arrive at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.
In October 2015 one of those children was my son Jasper. Rushed into Great Ormond Street in the first few hours of his life to undergo the first of many neurosurgeries. As those doctors and nurses battled to save his life, we fought to summon our courage and strength as we embarked upon our very own personal endurance marathon within the confines of the hospital. Now 4, Jasper’s unfailing determination and enthusiasm are utterly infectious. He’s joyous, happy, funny and battles through his own ongoing struggles with such bravery. And for him we thank Great Ormond Street Hospital and all those that work there every day.
