UPDATE 7 June 06
All TeamTim members (apart from one who had to pull out sick) completed the walk in lovely weather last Sunday. 8 did the full 26 miles, the rest the half marathon. A little footsore and weary by the end, but happy to have achieved our goal in Tim's memory.
Many thanks to all who have sponsored us so generously. We are hoping our efforts will raise more than £10,000 for the UK and US pancreatic cancer charities we are supporting.

Tim Baker died on 21st April this year at age 58, just 3 months after a diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer. June 4th had been planned as a family celebration of his younger sister's 50th birthday - instead we are doing the Thames Trail Challenge Walk in his memory and to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK, an organisation fighting for earlier diagnosis and more effective treatment for this relatively common and deadly form of cancer.
A gifted mathematician and loving husband, father, brother and uncle, the death of this fit and healthy man in such a short time has devastated his family. If you would like to sponsor us in raising money to help others facing this dreadful disease, you can contribute through this site (a small transaction fee applies) or contact Pancreatic Cancer UK or one of the team direct.
For further information on pancreatic cancer and the work of Pancreatic Cancer UK see their web-site

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. If you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
