Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for Breast Cancer Care.
Well.....I did it! In an amazing 2 hours, 21 minutes and 15 seconds. For the most part the sun shone, with little showers of welcome rain to cool us down.
Thank you to everyone to came out to support me on the day and cheered me on (a friendly face goes a long way!), a MASSIVE thank you to Mary (aka Coach M) who ran 10 miles with me.....without you where would I have been?
Total respect goes out to the humble banana and Lucozade.

If you know me.....you know I am not a natural runner, I positively detest it! I wanted to do something to get really fit, lose weight and feel healthy. I really needed a goal, I need to put myself out of my comfort zone and have a challenge.
At around the same time, I was asked by a very inspiring lady if I wanted to join a group of girls running the Paris Half Marathon - whilst the thought of it sounded rather appealing (more the shopping, sight seeing and bum pinching if I'm honest) it somehow didn't feel completely the right challenge for me.
I had had half an eye on the Edinburgh Half Marathon (May 2011) for a while. I figured it was important for ME to acheive but also for Mia and Jonny to see me acheiving, for them to see me training for something big and completing it. For me to inspire them.
It seemed poignant that someone I have known for a number of years is undergoing treatment for breast cancer, she is courageous, brave, beautiful and has no choice but to put herself out of HER comfort zone.
So here I am.....running my first ever Half Marathon, I hope you can join me on my journey!
My training as started - a combination of Power Yoga (to strengthen, tone and improve flexibility), power walking and the dreaded running!
