Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Myself and my friend are organising a sponsered walk for charity. The chairty is the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
We are doing this walk because we have both lost our mums to this terrible disease and would like to raise money for the people suffering with it and to raise awareness as the majority of people do not know anything about this disease.
This is a quote from the MND website defining what the disease is. "Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the upper and lower motor neurones.
Degeneration of the motor neurones leads to weakness and wasting of muscles, causing increasing loss of mobility in the limbs, and difficulties with speech, swallowing and breathing."
For more information about the disease you can visit the website www.mndassociation.org.uk.
Life expectancy of this disease is not very long and there is no cure.
At the moment we have recruited around 10 people to join our walk but would like as many as possible.
The walk is on Sunday 27th June 2010 at 10am we are walking from Wigan Wallgate station to St Helens townhall which is approixmately 10 miles.
We participated in this walk in 2008 and it raised £3,000, we had photos and a story on it in the newspaper last time and recruited around 30 people to join the walk.
Please donate generously.
