Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We are Paul Jackson, Phil Ockham, David Simmonds, David Warren & Michael Lane.
Over a week in September 2012, a team of postmen, known as ‘The Plodding Posties’, from the Royal Mail delivery office in Caterham will be walking the Cotswold Way National Trail to raise money for St. Catherine’s Hospice (registered charity number 281362).
St. Catherine’s Hospice is a charity dedicated to providing specialised end of life care and support to local people and their families, friends and carers. For over 25 years they have been providing high quality hospice care, free of charge, to people living in Crawley, Horsham, Mid Sussex and East Surrey. They care for people in the hospice, in their homes and in nursing homes. They also provide training, advice and support to other health professionals. They critically rely on voluntary donations and legacies and their care is only made possible thanks to the generosity of supporters and volunteers. They rely almost entirely on the support of local people, companies and trusts, with just 30 per cent of their running costs provided by the NHS. Each year they need to raise £4.7m in voluntary income to ensure they can keep providing their vital services to those who need them. Further information can be obtained at www.stch.org.uk.
A donation of any amount will be very much appreciated.
Verification of this walk can be provided by Jenna Durdle of St. Catherine’s Hospice - tel: 01293 447365, email: jennadurdle@stch.org.uk.
Thank you.
