1)Liz "othy" Trevathan (New Zealand)
who will be sporting the perfect pair of ruby hiking boots.
2) Ciaran “if I only had a brain” Treacy (Ireland) who
exceeds all in physical stamina and is seeking to deepen his philosophical
views through long, gruelling hours of thinking.
3) Joe “where does the muskrat find its musk?” Pournovin (England)
who is looking to further his courage by surviving a night alone with the other
three team members.
4) Paul “please oil me” Clifford (Canada) who will need serious amounts of knee and other braces in order to survive the ordeal in one piece.
The four of us, as well as hundreds of other volunteers, will be hiking a 100km long course in late April to raise money for Oxfam. The beautiful hiking course passes through Japan’s Hakone area and ends at Lake Yamanaka (“In the middle of the mountains lake” in English). As the course in fairly challenging, the four of us have been training and will continue to do so over the next few weeks. The event is called Oxfam Trailwalker Japan and you can read all about the details here:
Each of us have each pledged
15000 yen of our own and are hoping to fund raise a further 120000 yen for
Oxfam International. Please lend us your support and donate to a worthy
charity!
PS -> No amount is too small! A nice donation amount is $10 Canadian which is around 1000 Japanese yen. (this webisite uses British pounds and $10 is around 6.5 pounds)
