Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page;

HoooraY!! Thanks to efforts by all the team the distance has finally been completed.  Biggest praise must go to Paul, Melanie and Brian who picked up the slack for those of us that were injured or poorly.  Despite the late finish everyone was pleased to have completed the distance.

Thanks to all of you that have donated.

Thanks for all the donations so far, unfortunately due to ill-health and injury within the team our efforts have been a bit hampered, we will continue the activities until the mileage is completed.

The aim is for the 15 of us to run, swim, row or X-train our way from Lancaster to New York in 12 weeks, a distance of 3291 miles.  The event starts on 02/10/2010 and ends 25/12/2010. The team will have to average 275 miles per week with an average of 18.3 miles per person.  All donations are to MacMillan Cancer Support.

Funds raised can help in a variety of ways:

£3,333

could keep a Macmillan cancer information and support centre stocked with all the information resources it needs to support people affected by cancer for a year.

£350

could pay for a convalescent break for someone with cancer and their carer.

£51

could buy a liquidiser for someone who can't eat solid food as a result of their cancer treatment.

£17.50

could pay for one more member of a cancer support group to go on a social event with other support group members.
