We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

  • Cancer Research UK is the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer. Their research has been at the heart of the progress that has seen survival rates for cancer double in the last 30 years.
  • But too many lives are still devastated by cancer. It's vital that their work, funded entirely by the public, continues.

  • The Great Knaresborough Bed Race is now in it's 45 th year and involves teams of 6 people dragging a metal 'bed' around Knaresborough town centre, uphill downhill, over cobbles and finally, through the river Nidd.  The beds are decorated according to a theme (this year is 'occupations') and prizes are given for the best dressed bed, winning mens and womens teams, best junior team, newcomers etc etc.

  • We decided that it was about time we put a team in for this bonkers race, for a bit of fun and to see how much money we could raise for a great cause!

  • The Lab Rats were delighted to complete the Great Knaresborough Bed Race in a time of 24:41

  • We would like to give a massive thankyou to everyone who has supported and sponsored us, it was a great day and we are already thinking about next year's race!!
