For those who don't know, our beautiful baby boy Theo was born prematurely on 18th October 2018 and we were never able to bring him home from the hospital. To mark his first birthday, we'd love to raise money to support the ongoing care of bereaved parents at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. 

Before we had Theo, we had no idea that maternity bereavement suites, bereavement midwives, cold cots etc even existed - it's so sad to say they are very much needed as 9 babies a day are born sleeping in the UK. The 3 days we spent with Theo in the hospital was the only opportunity we had to spend time and create memories with our little boy and therefore the surroundings in which we were able to do this and the care, advice and support that was given to us at the time really defined our experience.

With the money we raise, we want to work with the wonderful bereavement midwives, Carmel and Chiara, to create the best environment possible for those going through the same heartache we are. Some things we're very keen on supporting are:

• double beds in the bereavement suites on the labour ward to enable parents to stay together comfortably;
• cold cots to allow parents to spend more time with their babies;
• soft furnishings and decoration to create a less sterile environment; 
• supplies and clothing for new born babies;
• packs for parents with information and supplies to help provide advice and comfort when back home.

We continue to keep Theo's memory alive and we'd love you to help us with marking his first birthday. As a family, we'll be celebrating in the Peak District with Theo's grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins. During our stay we will be completing a 12 mile family walk to thank you for your donations (even Theo's little 7 year old cousin and grandparents!). 

During the walk we plan to leave 'random acts of kindness' parcels for other walkers to find. If you'd like us to leave one in memory of your loved one please just send us a message or a leave a note with your donation and we'd love to include them and share photos with you.
