We provide comfort to bereaved parents to make a devastating time a little gentler

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page

In January Andy and I were delighted to discover that we were expecting baby Cav 2 to join our family in September.

Without any warning, on the 8th June we discovered that our baby’s heart had stopped beating and our beautiful boy had died.

Thomas Edward Cavill was born asleep at 1.20pm on Monday 10th June weighting 1lb 11oz. Thomas was the most perfect little boy just like his big brother William.

Thomas was laid to rest this afternoon at Rawtenstall cemetery following a small service with immediate family.

We never imagined this would happen to us and we were totally unprepared to begin to deal with loosing our baby boy. We are truly thankful for the support we have received from family, friends and strangers who are making this nightmare a little more bearable.

In memory of Thomas we will be making a donation to Friends of Serenity (charity to support bereaved parents in East Lancashire) in order to ensure help and support for other families who find themselves in similar circumstances in the future.

Thomas will forever be our baby, he was wanted and loved beyond imagination and it breaks our hearts that he isn’t here with us and we won’t have the opportunity to watch him grow. Thomas has taught us how precious life is and how easily it can be taken away.

We will never forget Thomas and we will talk about him often. Our little angel, the brightest star in the sky ❤️⭐️❤️

Friends of Serenity aims to preserve and protect the health of sick pregnant women and those who have suffered a miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death in particular but not exclusively by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities, Serenity Suites and equipment at East Lancashire Women and New Born Centre not normally provided by the statutory authorities. We work hard to support newly bereaved parents through the provision of memory boxes and miscarriage keepsakes. By dressing their babies we hope to make distressing and devastating time a little more comforting by taking the pressure off them. These are provided in East Lancashire and throughout the country on public requirement. Additionally, we strive to provide qualified information by any means appropriate on the 2nd most common chromosome disorder Trisomy 13.
