This July 3rd, Till and Stephanie will be taking part in a 10-K run in Regent's Park as part of a team supporting WOMEN FOR WOMEN INTERNATIONAL's efforts in Congo (DRC).  

Run for Congo Women is a grassroots movement benefiting Women for Women International's Congo programme. The first official Run for Congo Women UK will be taking place at the Regents Park Race on July 3rd 2010. The Congo presents one of the world's deadliest emergencies to date, with more than 5.4 million deaths since 1998 and over 1.5 million people displaced. Brutal violence of all kinds including torture and gang rape has become of a daily reality for the women and children of Congo as civilians are left to fend for themselves – half of the 38,000 who continue to die every month are children under the age of 5. Run for Congo will raise both awareness and funds for the women of DRC.

Women for Women International is a non-profit humanitarian organisation founded in 1993 that helps women in conflict and post-conflict zones such as Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iraq, Kosovo, Nigeria, Rwanda and Sudan by providing financial and emotional support, rights awareness training, education and job skills training to women survivors of war.
