I was so inspired by the efforts of the Charity Cycle Adventure riders in conquering the Hai Van Pass in 2014, that this year I want to help directly by riding and raising over $3000. Please sponsor me to ride!

In Vietnam many children still struggle to get an education and their stories are often heart-rending. When, through hard work, they overcome these difficulties their triumphs are inspirational. They just need a chance, an opportunity to change their lives for the better.

Please help me to help them. Just $100 puts a child in school for a year, also providing uniform and books. $400 sends a youngster to university to follow their dreams. Giving up just one $4 cup of coffee a week can keep two children in school for a year! Every little helps, and the difference an educated child can make to his or her community, by breaking the cycle of poverty, is immense.  

I'll be riding this King of the Mountains Cycle Adventure, from the central highlands to the south-central coast, 300km on and off road, up and down mountains. As an inexperienced cyclist this will probably hurt a lot, (but will hopefully get me fitter at last!). Whilst I am hurting, I hope you will be comfortable in the knowledge that you have helped a child by kindly and generously sponsoring me! Your support will motivate me to get fit before the ride, drive me on through the hard yards, and help me to raise over $2000. Best of all, you will help give a child something many of us took for granted - an education.

All the money raised goes to Saigon Children's Charity. SCC supports over 2000 disadvantaged children with scholarships every year, we provide vocational and life skills training to help youngsters get a job, we build schools in remote rural areas, and we support organisations which help children with disability.  Our mission is to eliminate poverty through education, and as the Director of the charity, I can assure you that we work very hard to do so, and care about every child we support.
