Every child deserves access to an education, regardless of their race, ability or economic situation. In India approximately 40% of the population is illiterate and only15% of children continue onto High School Education.

I'm taking part of a challenge - in which I will get my hands dirty folks! - to help build a sports field with the local community, creating new opportunities for education and bringing the local community together.

Leaving on the 15th October 2010, returning on the 24th October (the rainy season!) I will be spending my time -not on holiday albeit I will be near the sea as I'm off to Chennai - but clearing ground!!

In addition to helping a community directly, I'm hoping this is the start of a life-long ambition to do more overseas voluntary work. So your kind donations will be valued not only by those I hope to help, but me too. And to this end I cannot thank you enough.
