Story

When the third lockdown was announced on the 5th January, the Titus team decided to use the opportunity to do something good and the 50 for 50  idea was born! We challenged every member of the team to raise £50.00 for our charity partner KDUK by doing something 50 times. The team and their families are taking part in a range of challenges some of which are listed below;

Ellie will walk 5k every day for 50 days, dragging her children with her and doing meetings on the go!

Kristine is going to complete a sign language course within 50 days - what an achievement that will be.

Luke W is going to get in his lycra and cycle 250k over 50 days

Luke T is having NO BOOZE for 50 days

Ruth is going to read 50 books to lucky her lucky kids.

The marketing team (strongest team at Titus) are committing to 50 press-ups a day, for 50 days!

Seb is going to climb 5050meters, up and down the stairs in his apartment in 50 days!

Connor has challenged himself to be an absolute genius in 50 days and will read 5 books!

Why KDUK?

In November 2020 Titus announced a fundraising partnership with KD-UK, to run for at least the next two years, encompassing fundraising, sponsorship of events, and promotional activities to widen awareness about the vital work KD-UK undertakes.

It’s a cause which is particularly close to our hearts as a team, as one of our colleagues Luke T is a sufferer of the disease and also a trustee of the charity.

Through the partnership, Titus aims to help improve the public understanding of Kennedy’s Disease and contribute to funding the important work carried out through KD-UK, which includes the Kennedy’s Disease Clinic at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London, and the ongoing clinical trials and research into the disease underway at University College London.

Kennedy’s Disease is a rare inherited neuromuscular disorder characterised by the degeneration of lower motor neurons within the spinal cord and brainstem, causing progressive weakening and wasting of the muscles, particularly in the arms and legs. The many symptoms of Kennedy’s disease generally first appear when the person is aged between 30 and 50 years old.

KD-UK is the only UK based charity for Kennedy’s Disease (KD). It’s a non-profit organisation run by volunteers and sufferers and aims to provide support for sufferers, carers, family and friends while also funding research into treatments and cures for the disease.

As well as the support they offer to fellow sufferers and their families, an important part of their work is research into treating, and eventually curing the disease.

Of course, that work relies on continual funding, so every donation is vital
