Gill Pasco Tour · 5 July 2012

Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. We make it possible to live longer and better lives with myeloma. Through research and treatments, we find new ways to a cure. Together, we are the cure.

Story

My mate Greg's Mum, Gill Pasco was diagnosed with Myeloma, a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer in November 2010. She died 7 months later at the age of 67. Myeloma UK is the only UK charity dealing solely with myeloma, providing information and support to people with myeloma and their families, promoting awareness amongst GPs and other healthcare professionals, and campaigning for and funding treatment trials. www.myeloma.org.uk for more info on the great work of Myeloma UK.

On 21st and 22nd July I am joining Greg on a 250km bike ride - the Gill Pasco Tour - in memory of his Mum and in support of Myeloma UK. The route starts at "Suntrap" in Epping Forest, a temporary maternity hospital during WWII, where Gill was born. We will then pass through all the places where Gill lived - Beckton in the East End, Crayford in Southeast London, Margate and finally Fordwich near Canterbury where she spent the last 15 years of her life. Several of Gill's grandchildren will also ride parts of the route.
