Anaphylaxis UK is the only UK-wide charity operating solely for the growing numbers of people at risk of serious allergic reactions and anaphylaxis. While there’s no treatment or cure for anaphylaxis, we believe that by providing information, training and support, there is a brighter future.

Story

Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2 weeks time I am running in the Redbridge 10k.The charity I am running for is the anaphylactic campaign which deals with research into allergies.

In the first year of being born, my little boy James cried a lot! Nothing unusual about that but we also noticed him coming out in terrible itchy rashes and at the same time became very clingy. We tried giving him different food and we concurred that James must have a food allergy. This was confirmed when James was 18 months old.

Around his 2nd bithday James ate a tiny piece of cake at which point he walked up to me and put his arms around me. I noticed his breathing had become very shallow and he became very limp. it turned out that the cake had contained whole egg

James's family and friends are very aware of his condition now. His Sister Jessica is brilliant and always looks after his brother at dinner and lunchtime!

The anaphylactic campaign raises awareness of allergies and provides support and guidance to those who are affected and to campaign for better allergy services and improved food labelling. Anaphylaxis can be fatal.

I would really appreciate it if you could put whatever you can afford into sponsoring me. OK im only running 10k but those of you who know mw know that my knees wont support a marathon, so this is my way of doing "my bit"!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Many thanks

Tom
