Tony Hayward is raising money for The Mango Tree Orphan Support Programme
Story
On the 3rd of February I successfully summited Kilimanjaro (evidence attached !). It was much harder than I'd anticipated - a great feeling when you're back down but not so good at the time! Above 5500m the altitude sickness really began to get to me and for the last couple of hours to the summit I was feeling light headed and nauseous. It was undoubtedly the toughest thing I've done in the last 30 years and definitely a case of mind over body!! From a group of sixteen, thirteen made the summit and of the thirteen, three were carried off the summit by porters.
A huge thank you to all of you who have contributed either via the website or by cheque. Your generosity will make an important difference to the lives of many sick and deprived children. For those who haven't contributed and would still like to do so I am raising money for two charities, The Mango Tree, a Tanzanian charity which supports children orphaned by HIV/Aids and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity .
