Fundraising for Get Kids Going!
Update (20 September 2010)
Just wanted to thank you all once again for your very kind sponsorship of my Great North Run. With your very generous donations, and with Gift Aid on top, I made approx £335 for Get Kids Going. I was only aiming to raise £200 so I'm very pleased with this and I'm sure the charity will be, too. The race went very well - it's a great atmosphere and wonderful occasion and, after a sprint finish with a singing Elvis impersonator and a man dressed as a banana, I crossed the line in 1 hour 57 minutes and 38 seconds. I was hoping to get under 2 hours and just made it. After 13.1 miles and sitting on a packed East Coast train for 3 hours on the way back last night, my legs are a bit stiff this morning but otherwise, I'm good. Thanks once again very best wishes
Dear All
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've been running for a year now and thought I should enter one or two events to "give myself some focus" - famous last words! I'm running my first race of any kind, the Great North Run half-marathon on 19 September 2010 and I'm raising money for Get Kids Going!
Get Kids Going! is a National charity which gives disabled children and young people - up to the age of 26 yrs - the wonderful opportunity of participating in sport. They help promote sports for disabled children by providing them with specially built sports’ wheelchairs so they can do marathons, triathlons, tennis, athletics, mountain skiing, rugby, basketball etc. Get Kids Going! also helps and encourages British disabled children to compete by supporting them with their sports; training, physiotherapy, travel, design and development of sports’ wheelchairs. With your help many could become record holders and Paralympic champions!Any donations large or small will be gratefully received.
Many thanks
Tony
