WE MADE IT!!! 1,050 miles cycled from the bottom to the top. Thanks to everyone who helped us reach this brilliant total for Myeloma UK. K&T
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Myeloma is a cancer which has affected both of us over the last 18 years; firstly with our father and more recently with a good friend of both of ours, Charlie McParland. Unfortunately both lost their battle with the disease but hopefully the money we raise can help with the research, treatment and awareness of this increasingly common cancer.
We've been contemplating cycling John O'Groats to Land's End to raise money for Myeloma UK for the best part of a year, but following Charlie's death in January we have both become much more focused on undertaking this challenge. Starting at the most Southerly point of the mainland on the 11th September, we will clock up over 1,100miles in our two week journey to John O'Groats. The trip will see us cycling around Dartmoor, criss-crossing the Welsh boarder, skirting through the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District before passing into Scotland. In Scotland we will travel up the west coast via the Isle of Arran and will pass through Mull of Kintyre, Oban, Fort William and Loch Ness on our way to John O'Groats.
We will be travelling unsupported and plan to stay at a mixture of Youth Hostels and B&Bs. All costs associated with this trip will be met by the two of us to ensure that 100% of the money raised goes to Myeloma UK.
