Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In May this year, I went to visit our project in Sierra Leone, the Songo Agriculatural Training Centre and was delighted to see the impact the training received was having on this rural community. Not only were the students able to work for themselves, a number of them had started employing others within the community to work on their farms and more importantly were sharing the techniques learnt with other members of the community! It was so heartening to hear one student explain how she was ridiculed when she started her farm, only to have family members now come to her for advice. On my return, I wrote two articles which are available to read on our website.

SLWT won the Sierra Leone Excellence Awards for Education earlier this year for the work we have done and continue to do in that community. I would encourage everyone to join in and support our efforts!

Many thanks to all of you who have tirelessly supported me in my annual ritual of thumping the very sore grounds of Battersea Park! Its for a great cause and I hope you will be inspired to join me this year!
