Story

On my return from I was put in contact with a small charity called the Calcutta Rescue Fund. Started in 1979 this small charity which has already achieved so much, is working hard to improve to lives of some of the poorest families in .

Like many other charities Calcutta Rescue is run solely on the donations they receive and the time volunteers put in to help this organisation achieve its goals.

On the 4th September we will be holding a fundraiser in London to help raise money for the many thousands who every day sleep rough, without shelter and without a home.

To make this a success I am asking everyone to try and help by making a small donation of whatever you can to help us make this night a success. No contribution is too little nor one too great but with your help we may be able to bring a little change to a big problem

Thank you

Tyrone & Jen

More about the charity

Calcutta Rescue Fund UK exists to support the vital work of Calcutta Rescue in West Bengal.  Calcutta Rescue cares for the most socially and economically disadvantaged people in Kolkata and rural West Bengal by providing high quality medical care, education, vocational training and other services, regardless of gender, age, caste or religion.  Founded by a British doctor, Jack Preger MBE, in 1979, Calcutta Rescue helps 100,000 people each year.

Calcutta Rescue Fund, which is a UK registered charity, supports these programs by coordinating fundraising, recruiting, supporting volunteers, and raising awareness of the charity’s work.

The UK committee is made up of unpaid volunteers who give their time freely and always ensure that administrative costs in the UK are kept to a minimum.

About the charity
