Story
A team of hardy hikers from United Utilities IS including Mike Naden, Neil McGowan, Phil Dean, Paul Smith and Julian Hickson, are taking on the six highest peaks in the British Isles – to raise £10,000 for charity WaterAid. The challenge involves walking 50 miles, climbing and descending 20,000 feet, driving 1,000 miles and making two sea crossings – all within 72 hours.
Over the course of the three-day challenge the team will scale Snaefell (Isle of Man), Snowdon (Wales), Scafell Pike (England), Ben Nevis (Scotland), Slieve Donard (Northern Ireland) and Corran Tuathail (Republic of Ireland).
WaterAid can bring a lasting supply of safe water for someone living in the developing world for as little as £15.
The United Utilities team is one of twenty from across the country taking part in the WaterAid Six Peaks Challenge between July 6 and July 9, 2007. In total all twenty teams expect to raise more than £100,000.
Please dig deep and sponsor our team online to raise our final total.
This is an ideal opportunity to give money to sort out the appalling lack of clean reliable water for some of the people not lucky enough to be regulated by the DWI and OFWAT. We admit it is also a good opportunity for us to get up a mountainl and then do some team building over a pint (or two).
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: WaterAid will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
