Story
Considering I am the person who drives around for hours to find a parking space right outside my destination (hence often arriving late) just because I don't like walking too far, I can't believe that I've agreed to walk 13miles on 15 May through London, in the middle of the night, in my underwear!! Needless to say, there had to be a damned good reason for persuading me to do so, and that reason (thanks to Sarah Lewis) was to raise funds for the Walk the Walk Charity in aid of breast cancer research and awareness. I'm proud to say that without too much effort, Jess, Ollie and Christine agreed to join me on the walk, although it was hard to prize Ollie off his beloved sofa!
Having endured 8 months of intense treatment myself for breast cancer in 2008/9 and survived to tell the story, I wanted to offer my support to those organisations that made my recovery possible. I cannot commend these people highly enough for their dedication to the research, development and treatment of this disease and to those who offer essential emotional and physical support.
Walk the Walk is a grant making charity that looks at various projects and campaigns involved with breast cancer and gives funds to those where they know it will make the most difference.
Therefore, we are now asking for your support in raising funds for this worthy charity because we know we can count on you! Please give as much or as little as you can afford - every penny counts and is equally appreciated (as are blister plasters!). Please could we also ask you to pass this on to any of your friends who you think would like to donate.
Many, many thanks to you all, in advance, for your generosity.
Vanessa, Christine, Ollie and Jess x
