Story

Donald and Chris from Premex will be embarking on an epic cycle challenge this summer, as they tackle one of France’s most gruelling mountains, Mont Ventoux.   They will be joined by nine cyclists who all hail from the insurance and personal injury claims profession.

Not accustom to life on two wheels Donald is a newcomer to the sport and only bought a bike in January! Now an avid cyclist, Donald’s beloved golf has been relegated to second place, “Alwoodley will have to wait”!

Chris has always been a fitness fanatic but admits that cycling is the only sport he has done where every muscle and thought is willing him to stop.  Chris is taking the trip very seriously and is even planning his holidays around bikes - with a recent training trip to Majorca and a jaunt to see the Tour of California to be inspired by Sir Bradley Wiggins.

Donald and Chris are proud to support Team Tilly’s nominated charity, Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. Team Tilly was created in memory of Paul Rosenblatt’s daughter, Tilly, who sadly passed away when she was 19.  Paul is a colleague and close friend of Donald and Chris, and every year Team Tilly embark on an epic challenge to raise valuable funds for a charity that helped Tilly and many other young people.

The 132km route will culminate in scaling the summit of Mt Ventoux from the “Bedoin” side of the mountain, which exposes the riders to the full glare of the sun and famous ‘Mistral’ winds in what is a barren, moonlike environment.
