My colleague Alan Angel and I are entering the Hastings Half Marathon this year with an aim to raise £500 for Leukaemia Research.

There was much thought and consideration before making the decision to run this event.
With a combined age between the two of us of 109 years speed will not be high on our agenda, but we still believe that we can retain our dignity and show "the youngsters" a thing or two as we cross the finishing line in a reasonable time!
Why did we decide to raise funds for the Leukaemia Research charity? Well blood cancers including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma affect people of all ages from newborns to grandparents.
We need to be sure we reach all those touched (and we all know someone who has been effected) by leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma and give them the best possible chance of survival. Every £1 counts so please, please, please dig deep; it is a very worthy cause.
Rest reassured that as we run the hilly, demanding 13.2 miles through we will discuss the future success and the great performances of the West Ham United side, the guitar solos of jimmy Page and our selection of "desert beers". As this will be our way to block the pain in our (Alan’s) ancient aching body!
