Story
At the end of the year, I am heading off to the sunny climes of South Africa, and was planning on doing a sky dive to celebrate my birthday. Having been diagnosed with Crohn's Disease over 5yrs ago, and having to spend a lot of time in hospital this year requiring surgery, I've decided to do the sky dive to raise money for Crohn's and Colitis UK.
Along side this, I am also going to be climbing the famous Table Mountain to find the world's highest commercial abseil at the top. Here, I will be facing some demons of mine and will be dangling back over the edge to drop 112m, again for Crohn's and Colitis UK.
Over 240,000 people in the UK have either Crohn's Disease or Colitis which are conditions that last a lifetime and at present have no known cure. Crohn's and Colitis UK provide valuable information and support to sufferers and their families both online, information packs and in local support groups. They also provide funding for research papers about the conditions and hopefully will one day find a cure.
Having joined the local group to help support those in the area, I have contacted the charity to ask that the donations be split between head office and the local group.
Any donations are gratefully received as will enable Crohn's and Colitis UK to continue providing information and support to sufferers, families and friends alike.
