As you may know, our son Alexander has suffered from Cystic Fibrosis since birth and is a courageous young man.  As John and I are going to Peru and up into the Andes shortly, I decided to do something quite challenging, partly to push myself and also to see if I could raise some money for the excellent work of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

I am climbing to the top of Machu Picchu, almost 8,000 feet above sea level.   The high altitude makes what would have been a difficult climb into something really quite challenging.  I'm sure I will enjoy the challenge, however I would love to think my friends are encouraging me along the way and helping with some sponsorship.
