Story
We are taking on an 8 day trek through the remote Lares Region of the Peruvian Andes, treking through traditional Andean villages, forests and up to high remote mountain trails reaching heights of 5800metres. Throughout our trek you can track our progress using the Vocal Mobile Tracking application.
We are donating all our funds to the British Red Cross whose recent causes have included the Pakistan floods, Haiti Earthquake, the Dafur Crisis and various humanitarian projects throught the UK and overseas.
The Red Cross is the world’s largest independent humanitarian organisation with 20 million volunteers across 186 countries who are recruited locally to help vulnerable people prepare for, survive and recover from disasters. It is able to operate in parts of the world other organisations are unable to reach. The Red Cross helps to prepare for overseas disasters by giving local people the skills, guidance and resources to respond to an emergency, and by ensuring life-saving relief items – such as food, blankets and hygiene sets – are already in place in disaster-prone areas. As well as helping vulnerable people in areas of conflict, families separated by migration and undertaking humanitarian projects across the UK and overseas.
