Wayne lived life to the full and never let his illnesses prevent him from enjoying life and having fun. Life was tough at times, but there was always a twinkle of mischief in his eyes.   

Sarcoidosis of the lungs resulted in Wayne being ever more dependent on oxygen. 

Wayne greatly missed skiing and walking in the Lake District and hoped that he could someday return to the mountains.   

Wayne was given hope by being on the lung transplant list at the start of 2020.
