I have always watched the Virgin London Marathon on TV but never thought I would be able to take part, until in 2009 I transformed myself at a health & fitness retreat and began running. Only 20 paces at first, then over the next few years, I progressed and thought that I might actually be able to do it. I completed my first marathon in 2012. I am so lucky to get a place in the VLM 2015 and to be able to run in the same race as my idol Paula Radcliffe. The VLM 2015 will be my 2nd marathon and I’ve been training hard.

I am running for Cancer Research to help raise money to treat affected family and friends. I am also running for Louise Wisson (Lulu) who I met at a retreat. I want to help Lulu and her team to raise £100k for her chosen cancer charities. Lulu is currently undergoing treatment for Primary Peritoneal Cancer. Lulu is an inspiration and is blogging to help herself and her loved ones through cancer.
