Derian House Children's Hospice provides specialist care and respite to children and young people with life-limiting or life-shortening conditions. We cover the South of Cumbria, the entire of Lancashire and the North of Manchester. To provide our services in 2024 the cost to us stands at over £6m.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A quick 5.5km trail run, followed by a 15km MTB incorporating the new Altura bike trails, finishing with a final 5.5km trail run and be back home for smoked kippers!

Derian House Children’s Hospice is located in Chorley, next to Chorley hospital; it offers care focused on specialist palliative respite and terminal care for children who may not live to reach adulthood. I have seen first hand the care that they offer and would to ask your support in supporting this local charity - the reality is that they are open 52 weeks a year and receive statutory funding for just nine of those.

Update 16/11/2009

It was tough, a friend of mine said a triathlon was easier than this! I finished 82nd out of 145 (http://www.sportident.co.uk/results/2009/WhinlatterDuathlon)   Thanks for the dontations, with Gift Aid reclaimed this amounts to a little over £100 to Derian House.
