We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

On the 16th August 2008, a team of 9 swimmers entered the water at Ryde Pier, IOW, planning to swim 7km in the choppy waters of the Solent, negotiating ferries, yachts and jelly fish to exit the water at The War Memorial, Southsea. We are delighted to report that, in spite of Force 4 winds, all 9 swimmers successfully completed the challenge.

The team would like to give a huge thank you to their support team of kayakers and safety boat crews, without whom this event would not have been possible.

What motivated the team to rise to the challenge? 3 very special causes:

Diabetes UK (this page)

Elizabeth FitzRoy Support (located at www.justgiving.com/wightacross)

Multiple Sclerosis Society (located at www.justgiving.com/wightacross3)

All very worthwhile charities, so please show your support and give generously.
