Story

Hello All

Firstly apologies if I haven't spoken to you in a while, apologies if I haven't spoken to you enough, finally apologies if someone asking you for some of your hard earned cash monies bothers you (and apologies for the fact that I expect you are having to read some of my same lazy blurb again!!!)

Right now that's out of the way, some of you may or may not be aware that I have foolishly been cajoled into signing up for a London to Paris cycle ride from 14th - 18th July 2010.

The only reason I have agreed to participate at such short notice is because the team who had signed up to ride for on behalf of my work had dropped out one by one, leaving a solitary rider, so being the big man I am and possibly being a little bit drunk from the night before, I stepped in and signed up.

Now the reason I am contacting you is because I would like you to help me raise some sponsorship money for the UCL Hospitals Charitable Foundation, to enable them to help raise funds for the UCLH Cancer Centre Appeal. Inspired by America’s cancer day-care centres which focus on an individualised and holistic approach to treatment of cancer patients, UCLH is building one of the top cancer centres in Europe. This cancer centre which will open in 2012, will be a state-of-the-art building, with each floor designed around the needs of patients with different cancers, including dedicated facilities for teenage cancers, women’s health and men’s cancers. The cancer centre will be linked with the UCL Cancer Institute which is situated directly opposite the site, encouraging un-chartered opportunity for close collaboration between these two prestigious institutions. Together they will form a centre of excellence for cancer (I admit that I was helped on that last bit of blurb by the good old copy and paste).

Here is a little bit of text that the webpage has kindly put here ... Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Lastly if you're still not sure about sponsoring me then maybe you should sponsor the pain I shall be inflicting upon myself by doing this ride, so forget the charity and sponsor the major chaffing that I shall experience, that alone must be worth money?!

So there you have it, thank you for taking the time to visit my sponsorship page I appreciate you even more than I did before!

James.
