Story

Hi, I'm Lisa.

Here is a brief story of me and my journey so far!!

On the 13th of June I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. It was confirmed that I had 2 areas; a grade 2 and a grade 3. I didn't react as normal people do as I have a lot of breast cancer history in my family and over the years I have had to have numerous cysts removed, so I think I subconsciously thought it was inevitable. The first request I had of my surgeon was for permanently perky double-D's

On the 29th of June I had a mastectomy to remove my right boob. I will be convincing my surgeon to remove the other one at a later date!

After having 7 different scans and being told in all of them 'your nodes look clear', then to be told in surgery recovery, 'we found cancer in your nodes so we removed them all!' Brilliant!

Then to be told that I would be needing chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Double brilliant!

I'm doing absolutely fine. I'm not ill and everything feels very surreal. I don't feel any different, other than the fact I lean slightly to the left to overcome the balance issues from having 1 large boob and 1 small one!! I am finding joy in all the things I'm not supposed to find funny!!

So, as the manager of a Hairdresser's Hair@KB, I told my girls, you can do any cut, any colour for 5 weeks then it will all be gone! I went in blonde and came out purple!

So now you're up to date, here is what I would like to do. I am going to get one of my fabulous girls to shave my hair off, while I still have control.

I would like to do this in a busy local pub (if I can) on a band night to try and raise as much money as I can to help all my future Wonky Boob Buddies!

I have added a few pictures of my family to give you all an idea of who I am.

If you could possibly spare any amount of money to help future wonky boob sufferers I would be incredibly grateful.

This disease is unpleasant at best; devastating at worst. I am ridiculously lucky that there is nothing going on with me that cant be fixed. 6 months of nasty then reconstruction, tummy tuck and new boobs, bikini ready in 10 weeks!

I have an incredible amount of support from my family, friends and support gang. The management in my 2 jobs have been amazing and accommodating with my needs and demands, because lets face it, I can be a handful!!

Others are not as fortunate as me, and I would like to raise as much as I can so the they can get the support and care that I have been given freely by those that surround me.

I am so grateful for the people in my life!

If you are able, please give what you can.

Please share far and wide. Lets raise as much as we can for people who need it.

I am eternally thankful

Lisa
