We provide whole family care and support to those living with life-limiting illness

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the Wrexham & Shropshire JustGiving page.

On Sunday 28th June staff from Wrexham and Shropshire and friends and family took part in the Dragon Boat Race on the River Severn in Shrewsbury.

Our first race was great, we were all super motivated and managed to come in second place.  Race 2 wasn't so good, we lost the plot for a few minutes, but in race 3 we had a team talk, focussed, and managed to shave a massive 15 seconds of our time!  Unfortunately it wasn't enough for us to win... but it's the taking part that counts!

We now need to raise £1,000 for Severn Hospice, a local charity who do amazing work caring for people who are living with complex and progressive illness.  Please dig deep and donate now.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped out on Sunday, including all our W&S staff and their families, Marcus from London Overground, Nick from G Fleet and Greg from Marches Energy Agency,  Mark, Joel and Ed from HMPS Shrewsbury, Derick Norman, a customer of Wrexham and Shropshire who kindly responded to our web appeal for rowers, Darren from Shrewsbury station and Corrin Crane, and everyone else who came along and supported us.  Your help was very much appreciated!

Severn Hospice provides specialist care and emotional support for families in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales living with an incurable illness. All our care is provided for free, but it is not without cost - we have to raise £2 for every £3 we spend. It's because you care that we can.
