Last December Graham's brother, Nicholas, lost his 6 year battle against cancer at the tender age of 41.

He was looked after and cared for at the  of at St James Hospital in .  This state of the art, newly built facility is not only the largest cancer centre in the , but also in .  It houses some of the 's key researchers and practitioners in the field of cancer.  They provide high quality treatment and are involved in developing and maximising leading edge science, research and technology, with a view to treating and improving survival rates from this wretched disease.  The Yorkshire Cancer Centre charity appeal, Cancer Research and the NHS all play key roles in funding the centre.

Following our experiences at the facility and witnessing the truly exceptional staff, we have been inspired to want to contribute to raising funds for their £10 million appeal.  On Friday 24th September 2010 we are joining 33 other like-minded individuals who are all raising funds for this great cause by taking part in a 5 day charity challenge, treking along the . 

Before saying anything further, we would like to make it very clear that we are not asking you to subsidise what we hope will be a challenge but also an enjoyable holiday.  We have both paid the full "cost element" of the trip, plus given a sizeable donation, therefore any further sponsorship will be received in full by the charity.
