Story

Following on from the massive success of our "100 Miles in a Day" event in May 2009, we are embarking on another challenge in order to raise much needed funds for the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust, a charity trying to set up a childrens hospics in the West Yorkshire area. The event is a 180 mile walk round twelve of the regions football grounds. We start at Hull, mid afternoon on Friday July 23 and visit the homes of Grimsby Town, Scunthorpe United, Doncastor Rovers, Rotherham United, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley, Huddersfield Town, Halifax Town, and Bradford City before arriving at Leeds United's Elland Road stadium late afternoon on Sunday July 25.

How will we do this? The idea is that groups of walkers will walk stretches of around ten miles before handing over to the next group. The event carries on through Friday and Saturday night. We will be offering prizes to sponsors via a draw. So far we have a Nintendo Wii Package including some games and a whole host of fotballing prizes including 15 signed shirts, 4 signed balls, plus match tickets.

Please consider sponsoring one of our intrepid walkers. Your donations will make a huge difference to the Forget Me Not Trust is their quest to establish the Hospice for life limited children in Yorkshire.

Please include the name of the walker you are sponsoring in the comment when making your donation.
