Story
Well instead of starting the New Year sunning ourselves on the beaches of Thailand, drinking crazy M150 and partying into the early hours, Zoe and I have set ourselves a new challenge. And boy what a challenge it will be!! We are running in the 2010 London Marathon for Whizz-Kidz. After seeing the great achievement of friends last year participating in the marathon for this fantastic charity and Zoe's awesome effort in the Great North Run, us wannabe Forest Gumps were inspired and decided to give it a go.
Whizz-Kidz is a charity that gives disabled children the chance to lead a more independent life, by providing them with specialist equipment, training, guidance and support. WK is virtually 100% reliant on voluntary funds raised through events, trusts, companies and individuals. They have managed to make a difference in so many children's lives, we wanted to run the marathon for them so that we can support this very worthwhile charity. Our minimum target for the 2010 marathon is £3,000, however our aim is to raise £5,000 which will provide 1 specialised wheelchair for a disabled child.
This is where we need your help... we are asking for donations/sponsorship from all of you kind folk to help us achieve our target. Please, please dig in those pockets in between the fluff and chewing gum, to make a donation towards our target. Any contribution large or small will be greatly appreciated and will help us towards achieving our goals.... This really will be a year to remember!
Watch our progress on our facebook and twitter page.. I am sure there will be some funny stories throughout the course of our training,, and of course we will more than welcome any supporters that want to come and watch us on the day.
Lots of love,
Adele & Zoe. xx.
