Story
For some of you this will be your 3rd year of visiting our site as le Credit Crunch Bunch rides again! Thank you for your previous support which is much appreciated. Dis year ve are cycling vrew zee Black Forest and av affectionately venamed our team Zee Credit Crunch Bunch! Ve av vays of making you sponsor us!
We have been certified as mad this time as the 3 days of cycling 514 miles in relay is going to be a bit more challenging than our previous escapades. You can always tell it is going to be interesting when the organisers use words and phrases like "hilly bits", "longer climbs", "spectacular scenery" and "the feature of the Black Forest is long hills"! Hmmmm, we can't wait!
The
Black Forest Challenge 2010 is over 3 days in September and sees our intrepid
cyclists travelling through Germany, France and Belgium together with
another 40 teams. Day 1 covers Namur to Nancy and sees the team travel
through the Ardennes Forest. Maybe we'll grab some pate on the way -
that's the starter! Day 2 is a bit more cultured on the Nancy to
Offenburg leg - the home of the Art Nouveau movement and the Ecole de
Nancy (founded by Emile Galle who also designed the decorated Paris
Metro entranceways) in case you didn't know! Main course of Offenburger
et frites, sil vous plait! Day 3 is the big one, as we complete a
circular tour of the Black Forest. Spectacular scenery full of
Schwarzwalde Kirschtorten and Kuckucksuhren - that's Black Forest
Gateaux and Cuckoo Clocks to you and us! Black Forest Gateau - that'll be the pudding then!
We would like to
raise a minimum of £2,000 this year with 1/3 being donated
to the organisers charities of Milton Keynes Young Carers, Bedfordshire
and Luton Mind and Willen Hospice. The remaining 2/3rds will be
donated to Help the Hospice which is Clydesdale Bank's nominated
charity which means that the bank will donate a £ for every £ you
donate! That can't be bad - Charity from a bank? Whatever next!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
