We offer care, support and information to anyone affected by breast cancer

Story

My sister, Justine Derry, passed away shortly before Christmas from secondary breast cancer, just a few weeks after we celebrated her 40th birthday in the Lake District. She was such an amazing person with a "never give up" attitude and a sheer love of life who remained so positive throughout her illness, even through the darker times. She was an inspiration to so many people around her and will continue to be so.

Her husband, Haydn, has set up a tribute fund called "For Justine" with the charity Breast Cancer Care. To help raise money for this new fund he has gathered together a group of friends and family to climb the 3 Peaks- Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon over the weekend commencing 9th July 2010. My husband, Andrew, will be climbing all three whilst I will join the group for the last climb up Snowdon.

The purpose of the fund is to strengthen information and support services available to young women who are diagnosed with primary and secondary breast cancer with a particular emphasis upon diet and nutrition, fitness and excercise, complimentary therapy and fertility. The fund will support Breast Cancer Care's activities online, in print and through services that allow people to get personal support. Whilst the fund will have its own specific aims all donations will go to Breast Cancer Care.

Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
