In 2007 they completed the infamous Mongol Rally in a 1988 Citroen 2CV and most importantly raised over £1000 for charity.
This time their attention turns south and Africa. On the 13th December 2009 they will depart from the UK in a 1982 Citroen 2CV, known as The Walmington. Their goal is to reach Cameroon 34 days later, after driving through 11 countries and approximately 8000 miles. They will be up against the usual unpredictable potholed roads and potentially car splitting jungle mud tracks. All in a days work for these two but all for two fantastic causes.
This time we are supporting two excellent charities: Ape Action Africa and The Rainforest Foundation (UK)
On this page you can donate to Ape Action Africa:
Wild gorillas and chimpanzees are on the brink of extinction. Habitat loss and poaching threaten these magnificent animals like never before.
Ape Action Africa is committed to ape conservation in Africa - protecting Cameroon’s great apes through direct action. Our front line conservation work includes rescuing orphaned or injured gorillas, chimpanzees and monkeys, providing them with individual care, and giving them a safe forest sanctuary home where they can live with their own kind.
