Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
Between the 4 of us we have 10 children, 8 of which are girls. Abu el Banat means Father of Daughters, and is often said with sympathy in the Arab world.
We have embarked on a challenge to run/walk/crawl in the wilderness, up and down mountains, day and night, whatever the weather presents, to complete 100km and support Oxfam in their quest to globally eliminate poverty. Just JPY5,000 can pay the school fees for a child in South Africa whose parents have died or are ill as a result of HIV/AIDS. For more information on the activities of Oxfam, please click on the logo to the left of this screen.
Andy - "I work at an international school in Tokyo; married with 3 daughters. Real reason for doing this trek, apart from the fact that Oxfam is a wonderful cause to support: it's a great excuse to escape from Tokyo and experience the natural beauty of Japan."
Oliver - "I took part in this event last year, and the memories of the view of Fuji-san, the snake on the path, and the feeling of crossing the finishing line are enough to bring me back. I am looking forward to it!"
Andrew - "The opportunity to wander around the bush at the foot of Mount Fuji, get fit and help out those less fortunate than me was too goo to refuse"
Mitsuhiro -
