Story
Having completed the London Olympic Triathlon back in the Summer 2006, I have decided to push myself to the ultimate triathlon distance - the Ironman. This race involves me swimming a distance of 3.8km in open water, cycling 180kms and if that is not enough I then will run a marathon (42.2km). To top it all off I only have 17hrs to complete the race to become an Ironman!!
The race is looming - 16 July 2006. My training is going well (as can be expected). In deciding to undertake a race of this magnitude I have also chosen a charity close to my heart to support. One which I hope you will also feel you wish to support as well. The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
Some of you will know it has been 2 years since my sister and I lost our father to Lung Cancer. This is an incredibly aggressive disease and an enormous killer of males. I am hoping that through me undertaking this race I can help other families suffering with a loved one with Lung Cancer - and hopefully make a small difference. The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is the only charity in the world purely dedicated to defeating Lung Cancer. They do a tremendous amount of good work and really deserve your donation.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support and please please dig deep (and get your friends to sponsor me as well!!!).
