Story

Adam's Feb500 Step Challenge - Taking 500,000 steps in February

In March 2013 following a short but aggressive battle with cancer my mother, Annette Chetter, passed away at Willow burn Hospice in Lanchester, County Durham. My mam was a keen supporter of the hospice over the years. I want to challenge myself as well as raise funds for the excellent work Willow burn does.

In February I have set myself a challenge to do 500,000 steps. I have a desk job which from 9-5 which means I do very little movement during the day so this will make the challenge even harder for me. On a treadmill I can average 175 steps a minute and on a typical day when I go to get up, go to work and come home I do roughly 4,500 steps.

My progress will be tracked using a FitBit Fitness Tracker and the results will be shared on my Facebook page for people to keep up to date on the progress. I will be blogging about the progress on Social Media and on our business websites.

My target is £500. Please support my challenge and Willow burn by donating on my JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/adamchetter
