Story
On Saturday 27th September, myself and two friends will be donning gorilla costumes and doing a 7km organised run through the City of London. 7km may not sound a lot but I gather that it can be fairly tough in the aforementioned attire!
Slightly off-piste choice of charity, but I am looking to raise £400 for the Gorilla Organisation who are a charity working towards the protection of every type of gorilla species in Africa.
The target for the Great Gorilla Run 2008 is to recruit 720 runners (the remaining number of mountain gorillas left in the wild) and if every person raises the minimum sponsorship target suggested amount it will make a huge difference to the work of the Gorilla Organisation.
The aim is to help save the world’s last remaining gorillas who are targeted by poachers and illegal game hunters, threatened by the effects of civil war and human disease and face losing their beautiful forest habitat as a result of deforestation and human encroachment.
By sponsoring my participation in the Great Gorilla Run you’ll be helping to try and raise over £400,000 to fund more than 20 key projects dedicated to the protection and preservation of the gorillas.
The following website provides more details of the Organisation's work: http://www.great-gorilla-run.co.uk/
Please be generous!
Thanks
Adam
