Story
Dear All
My name is Adam, between the 19 and 28 September 2008 I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, the highest freestanding mountain in the world, to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.
I will be training over several months to get fit for the trip, as I will be trekking at altitude and in difficult conditions, and I have committed to raise a minimum of £3,000 in donations.
- The Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia care and research charity for people with dementia, their carers and families.
- The society provides information, support services, funds research into the cause, cure and care and provides caring grants for people with dementia and their carers.
- Over 750,000 people in the UK have dementia.
- 1 in 5 people over the age of 80 are affected by dementia.
- 1 in 20 people over the age of 65 are affected by dementia
- Most of us have known, know, or will know someone who has been diagnosed with dementia at some point in our lives.
My Gran suffers from Vascular Dementia and this has really motivated me to help raise awareness and sponsorship for such a cause. I hope that you will be able to support me by donation; any amount will really make a difference and help me in reaching my target.
Thank you very much for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
Many thanks for your support.
