Story

THE BRATHAY 10 MARATHONS CHALLANGE

On the 8th May 2009 I face one of the biggest challenges of my life, I am going to attempt to run the 2009 Brathay10 Marathons Challenge. This involves running the Brathay Windermere Marathon, (26.2 miles and one of the most challenging marathons in the country), 10 days in a row. This equates to a total of 262miles.

Alongside 14 other brave athletes I will attempt to complete an event that will not only be a huge test of physical, but also mental endurance.

In taking part in this challange i shall be trying to raise as much money as possible for the Brathay Hall Trust. The money raised will help Brathay's work with disadvantaged children and young people from the U.K. This is so important; as it will give these chidren and young people the confidence and life skills to enable them to make positive choices which will ultimately help them to overcome the difficulties arising from their poor social circumstances.

I SHALL BE EXTREMELY GRATEFUL FOR ALL DONATIONS

We work with a wide range of young people, often with fewer opportunities in life, including those managing the transition from living in care to independence, at risk of exploitation in unhealthy relationships, needing confidence to find work or training, or facing other challenges in their lives.
