On 25th April 2010, I'm fulfilling a dream and following in my dad's footsteps by running the Virgin London Marathon, in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer.  Very exciting, a little terrifying but all for such a fabulous cause that training has already begun in earnest! :-)  I'm not sure I'm going to beat dad's speedy efforts but I'm going to do my best....

Why Breakthrough? Well 40 years ago or so, my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer at a very young age, more recently my lovely mum found out that she too had breast cancer.  My family and I have lived first hand with this terrible disease but we're the lucky ones...thanks to the amazing work that charities like Breakthrough Breast Cancer do, mum and gran have both beaten the disease.  By running for Breakthrough, I want to raise as much money as possible to ensure that the wonderful work continues so that families can live without the fear of breast cancer.  Running a marathon is nothing compared to the battles that families are facing every day with this terrible disease and so I feel it's the least I can do.

I'm so proud to be able to do something to help raise funds for Breakthrough and thank you for reading my little sponsorship page.  I hope you'll help me to reach my fundraising target and also hope that those of you in London will be on the route to cheer/shout/hand out lucozade to get me through the 26 miles, 385 yards !!!
